The Process
Brand consultation

Step One

Brand Consultation & Homework

Our first step is to schedule a quick consultation call to discuss your business and project. This is just a way for us to get to know each other, and for you to ask any questions you may have.

I’ll then follow up our chat by sending you my contract, an invoice for the 50% deposit, and a suggested project start date. Once you’ve agreed on those, I will also send you some ‘homework’ - an in-depth questionnaire about your brand, clients and preferences.

At this point, I’ll also add you to a shared board on Pinterest where you can start pinning some branding inspiration too.


 Step Two

Mood Board & Colour Palettes

Using details from your questionnaire and our shared Pinterest board, I'll create a mood board with colours, images and ideas for your new branding.

This idea of the mood board is to get a feel for your brand’s personality/atmosphere, and we will be using this as a ‘guiding light’ throughout the rest of the project. We can go through 1 revision of this.

Once you're happy with the style and colour theme to go with, we can move onto the next step…

Step Three

Logo Design & Variations

To start with, I will work on two unique logo concepts for you, using the mood board and homework so far. Both will be quite different from each other, to gauge which style you prefer.

Once you’ve selected which ‘path’ to go down, we will have 2 revisions of this until you are happy with the final design. I will also create one variation of your logo - depending on your needs, this may be in a different colour to suit a dark background, or it may be with/without a tagline etc.

I will then get to work creating your brand ‘submark’; an ‘icon’ or ‘stamp’ version of your logo. These are useful in situations such as letterheads, social media profile pictures, or website favicons.

If you need extra revisions or logo variations, that is not a problem but will be charged additionally.


Step Four

Style Guide & File Delivery

Once all the logos are finalised, I will put a ‘brand board’ together that displays all of your branding elements together for you to sign off.

I will then create your Brand ‘Style Guide’ which will contain details and codes of all the colours used in your brand concept, as well as suggestions for typography for use in future collateral or your website.

Once the final project balance has been paid, I will transfer all final files over to you so you’ll have everything you need for the launch of your new brand!
